Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) is recruiting a Graphic Design Intern to assist our Marketing & Membership Director. The individual will be responsible for helping design print and digital media that will increase awareness of OEC and assist in accomplishing our goals. This is a great opportunity to experience working in a nonprofit environment while enhancing design skills.
Commitment: at least 3 months
Hours: a minimum of 10-15, those hours may be worked in a flexible combination and are at the discretion of the intern and the supervisor.

The Intern will
- Assist in producing a wide variety of print, web and other projects
- Assist in designing various publications
- Assist in crafting and honing messages through a balance of written and visual design
- Attend weekly meetings with the designer and marketing team
- Assist in brainstorming concepts for upcoming projects
- Miscellaneous tasks as they arise or as specific interests develop
- Assist with photo taking at events as they occur throughout the quarter/semester
- Assist in maintaining the OEC brand
Qualifications
Required
- Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Professional demeanor
- Willingness to learn
- A portfolio of projects that demonstrates good typography skills, strong design potential and an understanding of concept development
Preferred
- Knowledge of web design including html & CSS
- Photography experience
- Current student in design program
The intern is considered an integral part of the Marketing team and as such, their ideas and input will be valued.
The intern must be organized, detail-oriented, possess strong typography and layout skills, and be a graphic design major with a GPA of at least 3.0.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, motivated and possess the desire to produce excellent work. This role requires strong creative skills and the ability to take initiative and work independently.
