National Program Manager , Eco-Healthy Child Care

HesterHester Paul joined the Oregon Environmental Council as our National Program Manager for Eco-Healthy Child Care in February of 2008. Her focus is expanding the Eco-Healthy Child Care program to other states so that children throughout the nation benefit from the reduction of harmful environmental toxics in child care facilities. Prior to working for OEC, Hester managed the Child Care Inclusion Challenge Project, a four-organization collaboration in San Francisco which supports the successful inclusion of children with special needs in child care settings. Hester also served as the Director of Provider Services at the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency - Children’s Council of San Francisco. During graduate school, Hester coordinated two projects that emphasized supporting and educating adolescent mothers so that they could better care for their infants: the “Parenting for School Success Project” and the “Build a Lasting Love Project”. Hester has a M.S. in Clinical Psychology and a B.A. in Psychology. During college, Hester studied abroad in Kenya with the School of International Training (SIT).
