Program Director, Sustainable Economy
John joined the Oregon
Environmental Council in January 2008 and directs OEC’s work to build a
sustainable economy in Oregon.
John worked for the Union of Concerned Scientists and in state government to
make clean, renewable energy a larger and more central part of California’s electricity
mix. He has a M.S. from the University
of California at Berkeley
in Energy and Resources, and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from
Georgia Institute of Technology with
an emphasis on Power Systems Engineering.
He enjoys being outdoors, playing percussion and bass guitar, learning
Celtic harp, working with intentional communities, teaching bodywork classes,
and exploring the undiscovered corners of Portland.
