Oregon Public Policy Leadership
Document Actions
The Oregon Environmental Council has been a leading voice for state action on global warming since the mid 1990s. OEC staff members have served on the Governor’s Global Warming Advisory Group, Tailpipe Emissions Task Force, and Climate Change Integration Group. OEC spearheaded Clean Cars for Oregon, a coalition of over 100 businesses, leaders in the health and faith communities, labor and environmental organizations, and several hundred individuals that successfully advocated for the tailpipe emissions standards adopted in 2006. We are currently coordinating policy positioning and political strategy for a network of Oregon organizations that is promoting legislation and other state and regional measures to ensure that Oregon meets its greenhouse gas reduction goals.
We invite you to help us help Oregon meet its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 75% below 1990 levels by 2050. Sign up for OEC Action Alerts.
