OMSI's public health week a success

Oregon Environmental Council had a big mouth at Oregon’s Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) -- literally! Thanks to the art collaborative “Switch,” our big mouth, beanbag produce and a fresh-food game board kept kids busy at the museum’s Public Health Week event.
Visitors were invited to toss bean-bag fruits and veggies into the papier-mache mouth, earning a try at our game board. Questions on the board challenged their knowledge of fresh, healthy food in Oregon. Right answers added another piece to a picture puzzle, revealing the message: “U R WHAT U 8.”
This game, and public health week, is part of our effort to encourage people to “Vote with your fork!” That means choosing food that supports farmers who are good stewards of our land, water and air. See photos of our big mouth on Flickr, and look for it as it makes its way to Farmer’s Markets and other community events in Oregon!
