Public Health and its partners in Oregon/SW Washington focus efforts one week in August at OMSI on children and families in order to help educate and inform in fun and interactive ways on health issues important to all.
This year’s theme is “Crack the Case of Good Health” requested by OMSI in conjunction with the museum’s CSI exhibit that will be there at the time. A “Passport to Good Health” will be developed for visitors to the exhibits to fill out as they learn at each station. They will share the passport at the concluding station and spin the wheel for Public Health prizes.
OEC will have a table focusing on where our food comes from in this year’s “Crack the Case of Good Health”-themed event. We will be empowering kids and adults to make healthy food choices by learning about food production from farm to plate and its effect on the health of ourselves and our environment. We’ll be leading kids (and adults!) through hands-on challenges to match food products and their ingredients to their origins in plant and animal life.
