Annual Event Volunteer

OEC is recruiting a volunteer to co-chair the planning, project management and execution of our annual member event scheduled for March 2011 in Portland. This event will be a “friend-raiser,” as well as a fundraiser, in the early evening in the Portland area.

OEC is recruiting a volunteer to co-chair the planning, project management and execution of our annual member event scheduled for March 2011 in Portland. This event will be a “friend-raiser,” as well as a fundraiser, in the early evening in the Portland area. 

Duties include convening planning meetings and providing oversight and project management with staff and volunteers, communicating with and confirming vendors, help to develop and coordinate evening program and assisting in event promotion. This position requires working closely with our communications and fundraising teams, Office Manager and Executive Director. A minimum of 10 hours in-office per week required, hours will likely increase as the event approaches. Volunteer position runs through March 2011.

Required

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be a people person
  • Organized and works well independently
  • Flexibility and ability to thrive in a high-energy work environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

Preferred

  • 2 years of event planning experience
  • Fundraising experience
  • Sense of humor
  • A passion for OEC’s mission

Duration

Fall 2010 – March 2011
