Step 2 - Learning to Explain OEC and Our Work
To get other people involved in OEC’s work, you have to be able to adequately explain who OEC is to someone who may not have any prior knowledge of us or the work we do around the state.
Watch the video, read through the "Who We Are" section, and complete the exercise at the end. When you are done with this exercise you should be able to articulate who OEC is and why you are involved with our organization.
To complete this section of the training:
- Watch the Video on OEC programs
- Read the "Who We Are" section of the guide and complete the worksheet at the end of the section (pages 5-12 of the Volunteer Resource Guide)
- Get tips and tricks on how to effectively explain OEC to others from Teke, OEC's Director of Major Gifts, and watch her elevator speech to see how she describes OEC.
