CSA farmers: sign up to learn more about "Vote with Your Fork!"

The Oregon Environmental Council (OEC) offers "Vote with Your Fork!" lunchtime presentations to local businesses with the goal of creating educated, empowered eaters. Our interactive presentations will educate employees about the effect their food choices can have on the local economy, the preservation of farmland, rural communities, their health, and the environment. We’ll be talking about CSA shares, and their benefits to eater, grower, and the environment.

If, as part of the discussion, there is interest among employees to purchase CSA shares, and an interested local CSA farmer with available shares, OEC will connect the farmer and the company to offer CSA shares to employees. A critical mass of sign-ups mean the company could become a CSA drop-off point for the farmer, providing employees a convenient way to purchase local, sustainably grown food; the company a way to support a local farmer; and the farmer a convenient drop-off point for CSA shares.

Bottom Line: less car trips for everyone, and a smaller carbon foodprint for all!
