Baby Shower Kit - Party activities
Games and activities at a baby shower are a great way to create meaningful memories and give guests a chance to show their dedication to the family.
Make your own Baby Book
Using a blank journal with tree-free or recycled paper, engage guests in designing a book to mark the baby's milestones. Shower attendees may decorate each section with drawings or well-wishes, leaving room for pictures and journal entries.
Make a Mobile
Ask your guests to bring a favorite item that has special meaning to be hung on a mobile for the new baby. You can offer guests a theme, or create a "friends mobile" of pictures from the shower. Consider using ribbons, foil or other “recycled” materials.
Baby Blanket
With the invitation, you might mail invitees directions to create a quilt square, or dimensions for knitting a square. The squares can be assembled into a blanket at the party.
Birth Beads
Ask each of the shower attendees to bring a bead representing a wish or special meaning. At the shower, string them together for a keepsake.
Poem & a Present
Ask your shower attendees to attach a poem to their gift. At the shower, parents may read the poem aloud and guess who has given the present. poems can be added to the baby book.
Personalized One-sies
Decorate organic cotton unbleached baby undershirts using non-toxic fabric paints or crayons and rubber stamps.
Birthday Card Keepsakes
Ask guests to create birthday cards with special messages for each year of the new baby’s life from age 1 to 18. Assign each shower attendee a year, and ask them to decorate a card and include a message to the child as s/he reaches that future milestone. This is a loving keepsake particularly if older relatives are present, who will then be remembered later in the child’s life.
