Baby Shower Kit - Location

Ideas for selecting a baby shower location that celebrates your eco-healthy theme

A baby shower is traditionally held at the home of the host; however, restaurants, community centers or public locations are also appropriate. When choosing a shower location, look for a place that allows for:

  • Room to seat all guests
  • Room for activities
  • Comfortable seating for the expecting parent
  • Time for set-up, party and clean-up
  • Accessibility by public transit, walking or biking
Restaurant:

You may choose a restaurant that is locally owned and offers local and sustainable fresh food.

Outdoors:

Many of Oregon’s state parks allow you to reserve facilities such as group shelters and meeting halls. You might also consider gardens, zoos, arboretums and other locations that celebrate the natural world. Be sure that you have a plan for weather (rain and wind). You might also ask about bathroom facilities, activity restrictions, power, catering, and transportation accessibility.

Community centers:

Church halls, museums and other community centers may also have space for rent.
