For the first 4 months, it is recommended that babies eat only breast milk or iron-fortified infant formula.

4 Months and Older
Starting at 4 months babies can be introduced to iron-fortified infant cereal.

6 Months and Older
At 6 months, babies can start eating fruits, vegetables, selected cereals and pureed, ground or chopped meats.

7-12 Months and Older
Between 7 and 12 months, babies can start eating soft food combinations like macaroni and cheese. You may also consider introducing yogurt, cheeses and well-cooked vegetables.

Through all this, breast milk or formula should continue to be your baby's most important nutritional source.
