I Drive Green and Clean!
Created by NATA, I Drive Clean and Green! campaign encourages drivers to become conscientious about the environment, and offers Certified Eco-logical Auto Repair Shop another way to attract new customers to their business.
Customers of all stripes are clamoring for ways to support green automotive businesses. The Ecological Business Certification Program for Auto Repair, the NW Automotive Trades Association, and the Oregon Environmental Council have found a way to promote these shops through a coupon and decal reward program during the national Fall Car Care Month in October 2009.
Beginning October 1, all Vehicle Inspection stations through the Dept. of Environmental Quality in the Portland area will give each customer going through the vehicle emissions check a coupon that will encourage them to go to Eco-Biz certified auto repair shops for a free visual inspection. The purpose of this inspection is to help consumers identify vehicle problems that can add to air pollution in the Portland metropolitan area.
Created by NATA, I Drive Green and Clean! campaign encourages drivers to become conscientious about the environment, and offers Certified Eco-logical Auto Repair Shops another way to attract new customers to their business. To participate, an auto repair shop must be a NATA member and a Certified Eco-logical Auto Repair Shop. Coupons, offering a “Free Green and Clean Inspection” are distributed through the DEQ and other channels to consumers for a “Free Green and Clean Inspection,” that includes fluid leaks, air filter and tire pressure check, hoses, gas cap, and visible smoke from the tailpipe. If the automobile passes these checks, the customer receives a cling decal for their auto that says I Drive Green and Clean!
